Usually, the new year is celebrated amid great festivity in Australia. A good number of people get out of their home to witness the departure of a year. They also welcome the next year and hope for the best. I can remember the new year of 2013 when I was an undergraduate at University of New South Wales in Sydney. Thank you for the question and I will describe the event now

It was the last celebration of a new year as a student because my last semester was going on. So, we all planned for a grand celebration on the last day of the year. After the plan, we arranged for a good number of activities and accomplished them perfectly. We gathered before 11 pm at the premise of Sydney Opera House and everyone enjoyed the event that we had been planning for past few days. This was a great fun to me and other friends of mine present there

We had several plans but unluckily we could not implement all of them due to lack of preparation. So, we just did the most desired ones. In fact, none of us was familiar with fireworks. So, it was on the top of the list. On the day time, one of my friends was assigned to get the fireworks. And we were grateful to him for his cordial contribution. He brought fireworks more than our imagination. Each of us, on that night, set fire on the fireworks and they made the sky vibrant. Besides, there were arrangements for refreshment. We took foods and soft drinks. For some security measures and considering some other issues, we did not allow any types of alcoholic drink for us. It was a nice party and everyone of us enjoyed greatly. The fireworks were noteworthy and it attracted a remarkable number of people to enjoy the show

Almost all of my intimate friends and associates were present at the event. I can remember Julia, Peter, Johnson, Thomas and Andrea among others. In fact, they were my best friends and still, they are. The idea to celebrate was my brainchild and everyone agreed. But some of the mates could not accept the invitation because they had some other engagement on that night. So, accordingly, we all made plans to celebrate the day. It was a bit difficult to arrange for everything needed for the day. When I had sent Peter for the fireworks, he failed several times to get them. The fireworks were unavailable and he had to move in different places to arrange them. When he returned, he surprised us. Julia was assigned to arranges for the foods and she brought some homemade foods for us. We were happy with the food items. Overall, it was a nice celebration

We all shouted with the fireworks. I set fire on a piece right before the clock reached 12.00 am. it was the beginning of a new year, new hope and new days. So, every one of us was too much excited about the entire event. Some of the friends started dancing together when the clock passed the midnight. I also enjoyed the party that night. They all praised me highly for taking such a step to celebrate the day. Finally, we returned home after around one and a half hours passing on various streets of Sydney. The day is still vivid on my mind
