BAD: For the last three years I’ve been working for a French editing company GOOD: For the last three years I’ve been working for a French publishing company

edit = examine and make changes and corrections to a manuscript in preparation for  printing .The text was still full of mistakes and obviously hadn’t been edited

: publish = produce (a book, magazine, newspaper, etc) for sale to the public .The book was first published in 1987
